What Is the Artlist AI Toolkit? Models, Credits and Limits
The Artlist AI Toolkit bundles 47 video models with stock media under monthly credits. Here is how credits work, what unlimited covers, and the limits.

TL;DR — The Artlist AI Toolkit is the generation half of an Artlist subscription — one prompt box that runs dozens of video, image, voiceover, and music models, paid for with monthly credits. Every clip you make spends credits from that month's pile, and whatever you don't spend is gone when you renew.
Unlimited models (a short list of models you can run without spending credits) apply only to low-resolution tiers on certain yearly plans, leaving top-tier video models on the meter. It gives you lots of tools under one roof, but you'll want to check the credit rules before you subscribe.
You're likely looking at Artlist's plans and trying to work out what the AI half actually gives you.
The sales page lists dozens of tools, but the credit maths is where video editors get caught. If your client work slows down for a few weeks, paid credits you didn't spend simply disappear.
We read Artlist's official documentation, price lists, and live model API on 24 August 2026. Here's what's in the bundle, how your credits work, and where the limits sit.
What the Artlist AI Toolkit actually is
Artlist sells a subscription bundle with royalty-free music, sound effects, stock footage, templates, and plugins, as shown in Artlist's AI Suite plan guide. Alongside those libraries, you get the AI Toolkit: a single page with a prompt box, a model picker, and settings for aspect ratio, resolution, and duration.
The prompt box has two modes, labelled Standard mode and AI Agent. Plans with the full Toolkit also include Artlist Studio, which Artlist describes as a place to cast characters, build locations, frame scenes, and direct shots.
You don't buy the AI Toolkit on its own. It sits inside Artlist's wider subscription plans.

The Artlist AI Toolkit, opened without an account on 24 August 2026. The free default is Seedance 2.0 Mini at 480p.
Which models you get
Artlist's model API lists 47 video models, 34 image models, 6 voiceover models, and 2 music models.
For video, the catalogue includes:
- Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0 AI Image to Video, Seedance 2.0 Fast, Seedance 2.0 Mini, Seedance 1.5 Pro, and Seedance 1.0 Pro Fast
- Veo 3.1, Veo 3.1 Lite, and Veo 3.1 Fast
- Kling 3.0, Kling O3, Kling 2.x, and Kling 1.6
- Sora 2 and Sora 2 Pro

- Wan 2.6 and Wan 2.7

Artlist's Seedance 2.5 card lists tags for Multi-Type References, 30s, 1080p, 720p, and Audio. It supports text-to-video, image-to-video, and multi-to-video, and accepts start and end frames, along with image, video, and audio reference files.

Artlist's newest Hailuo is 2.3, and their newest Wan is 2.7. If you want newer builds like Hailuo 3 or Wan 3.0, you won't find them here because broad catalogues often run one release behind.
Try Seedance 2.5 without a subscription
If you want to generate clips without paying for a full annual bundle, you can test Seedance 2.5 on Seadanse right in your browser.
New accounts get free starter credits with no card needed. You can pick durations of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 seconds at 480p, 720p, or 1080p, and your credits stay in your wallet for 12 months.
How Artlist credits work
Everything you make on Artlist spends credits, and your pile refills on your billing date.
Credits reset every month
According to Artlist's credit documentation, your subscription includes a fixed monthly credit pool shared across image, video, and voiceover tools. The credit price changes based on the model and the settings you pick.
Credits don't roll over. Your monthly allowance resets at the start of each billing cycle, and any unspent credits or fast generations are gone. Plans also include monthly fast generations and parallel generations that reset on the same day.
To see a simple credit model that keeps your balance alive for a year, check our Seedance 2.5 pricing page.
Top-up credits expire in 30 days
If you run out of credits mid-month, you can buy a top-up pack. But Artlist's top-up rules state that top-ups are only sold to yearly subscribers on plans with 80,000 monthly credits or more.
Top-ups go into a second wallet and are spent only after your monthly allowance runs out. You can only keep one active top-up pack at a time.
These top-up credits expire 30 days after the date you buy them.

Artlist's own help centre, read 24 August 2026: top-up credits expire 30 days after you buy them.
Artlist made credits go further in May
On 14 May 2026, Artlist reduced credit costs across 46 model configurations (7 image models and 39 video models), advertising savings of up to 80%.
This price drop makes each generation cost you fewer credits than before.
What "unlimited" actually covers
Artlist mentions unlimited generations for certain setups, but Artlist's unlimited documentation sets firm limits. On monthly plans, and on yearly plans below 40,000 credits, you don't get any unlimited models.
At 40,000 credits on a yearly plan, you get one unlimited video model: Seedance 2.0 Mini at 480p, capped at 5 seconds with audio.
On yearly plans from 80,000 to 240,000 credits, your unlimited list includes:
- Kling 1.6 at 720p, capped at 5 seconds
- Kling 2.1 at 720p, capped at 5 seconds
- Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro at 1080p, capped at 5 seconds
- LTX 2.3 Pro at 1080p, capped at 6 seconds
- Seedance 1.0 Fast Pro at 1080p, capped at 5 seconds
- Seedance 2.0 Mini at 480p, capped at 5 seconds
- Veo 3.1 Lite at 720p, capped at 4 seconds with no audio
- Artlist Original at 720p or 1080p, with no duration listed
Plans from 500,000 to 1,500,000 credits add Kling 2.6 and Wan 2.7. Plans at 2,000,000 credits and above add Kling 3.0 at 720p.
Seedance 2.5 isn't in any of these lists today. Every Seedance 2.5 clip you make on Artlist costs credits.
The model sat in the unlimited tier in the 10 August version of that help page, but it's gone from the 17 August edit.

Artlist's unlimited list on 24 August 2026. Every video model is capped at five seconds or less, and Seedance 2.5 isn't there.
What one subscriber found out the hard way
In an r/editors thread from 27 February 2026, one subscriber shared how their allowance worked out in practice:
I paid a package of 5,000 Mexican pesos or 300 USD for an annual subscription of 40,000 monthly credits, and my 40,000 credits only allowed me to generate 45 seconds of video.
The top reply in that thread, with 160 upvotes, added: "I stopped having any interest in Artlist when they went all in on AI slop."
Note that this user account comes from before the 14 May 2026 credit cut, which lowered credit costs across 39 video model options.
Limitations and open questions
A few practical details remain open in Artlist's documentation:
- Artlist doesn't say whether its published per-model credit table has been updated since the May price cut.
- Artlist doesn't say why Seedance 2.5 was in the unlimited list on 10 August and removed on 17 August.
- We opened the Toolkit and read the vendor documents, but we didn't generate video on Artlist from our automated browser, so nothing here judges their visual output.
- It isn't clear how quickly new model releases will reach their catalogue once developers ship them.
Where Seedance 2.5 runs without a subscription
If you want to skip recurring subscriptions, you can use the Seedance 2.5 generator on Seadanse. You can buy a single $9.9 credit pack with no subscription needed.
Any credits you buy stay valid for 12 months. On Seadanse, Seedance 2.5 gives you:
- Resolutions at 480p, 720p, or 1080p
- Durations of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 seconds
- Six aspect ratios: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, and 21:9
- Audio on by default
- Prompts up to 10,000 characters
You can supply reference images and reference video clips. Seadanse doesn't take reference audio files, so you describe voices in your prompt text.
Failed or interrupted clips are refunded automatically, and you can price a month of work on our Seedance 2.5 credit packs page before you spend anything.

FAQ
Is there a free version of Artlist?
You can open the Toolkit without logging in to see the settings and layout. A free account gives you:
- 2 images
- 1 video on Seedance 2.0 Mini (16:9, 480p, 4 seconds)
- 3 voiceovers
- 2 songs
For Seedance 2.5, you need a paid plan because it has no free generation.
Do Artlist credits roll over?
No. Monthly credits reset at the start of every billing cycle, and unspent credits vanish when you renew.
If you're a yearly subscriber on an 80,000-credit plan or higher and buy a top-up pack, those top-up credits expire 30 days after the date you buy them.
Is Artlist worth the money?
Artlist is worth the money if you regularly use stock footage, sound effects, and music alongside AI models under their commercial Pro license.
Here's what the AI Suite plans cost:
- 16,500 credits: $11.99 a month billed yearly, or $19.99 month to month.
- 40,000 credits: $23.99 a month billed yearly, or $39.99 month to month.
- 240,000 credits: $119.99 a month billed yearly, or $199.99 month to month.
- Max Pro (with stock media): $39.99 a month billed yearly, or $79.99 month to month.
If you don't need stock media and only want AI video, you can run Seedance 2.5 here with credit packs that last 12 months.
