Artlist vs Seadanse for Seedance 2.5: Which Deal Suits You?

TL;DR — Artlist and Seadanse run the exact same Seedance 2.5 model, so your choice comes down to the deal rather than the output. Artlist charges a monthly subscription where your unused credits reset every month. Seadanse sells a credit pack that lasts for a full year without any monthly fee.

If you already use Artlist for stock footage and need audio reference files, Artlist is the right fit. If you want standalone video generation without a monthly subscription, Seadanse gives you more room to breathe.

We run Seadanse, so we've got an obvious interest in this comparison. But we also believe you deserve plain facts before you enter your card details. This guide breaks down what each platform charges, what you can upload, and what happens when you stop paying.

How we scored: both rows come from each platform's own documentation and price list, read on 24 August 2026, and from the settings each one exposes. Neither rating includes output quality, because we have not generated video on Artlist.

Both platforms run the same Seedance 2.5

ByteDance makes Seedance 2.5, and both platforms host and serve the exact same underlying model. That means you won't find a secret quality gap between the two.

What the model can do matches on both sites. Both let you generate clips at up to 1080p resolution. Both let you push clip length up to 30 seconds, and both generate audio along with the video.

You get text-to-video, image-to-video, and multi-reference modes on both tools. Alongside Seedance 2.5, Seadanse hosts nine other models:

The real differences between Artlist and Seadanse come down to what you can upload, how you pay, and how credits work.

What Artlist gives you that we don't

Artlist offers a much wider creative toolbox than Seadanse. They beat us clearly on four fronts:

  • A full stock catalogue: Artlist bundles commercial footage, music tracks, sound effects, and video templates into its main platform.
  • A deeper model roster: The Artlist AI Toolkit lists 47 video models, 34 image models, 6 voiceover models, and 2 music models, while Seadanse hosts 10 models in total.
  • Audio reference uploads for Seedance 2.5: Artlist lets you upload audio reference files to guide voice and tone, while Seadanse doesn't take audio files.
  • Unlimited generations on older models: Yearly subscribers on Artlist's higher tiers get unlimited runs on specific older models like Kling 1.6 and Kling 2.1.

If how you work relies on an all-in-one stock and audio library, Artlist gives you an integrated setup that we don't match.

Where every Seedance 2.5 clip costs credits

On Artlist, monthly plans and yearly plans below 40,000 credits don't include any unlimited models. Every model generation on those plans costs credits.

Even on the higher yearly tiers, the unlimited lists only cover older models at short lengths. At 80,000 to 240,000 credits, yearly subscribers get unlimited generations on:

  • Kling 1.6 at 720p
  • Kling 2.1 at 720p
  • Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro at 1080p
  • LTX 2.3 Pro at 1080p
  • Seedance 1.0 Fast Pro at 1080p
  • Seedance 2.0 Mini at 480p
  • Veo 3.1 Lite at 720p

Every model on that list is capped at 5 seconds, except LTX 2.3 Pro at 6 seconds and Veo 3.1 Lite at 4 seconds.

Seedance 2.5 isn't on any unlimited list on Artlist. It's marked as having no free generation, which means there's no free sample of this model on their site. An earlier version of that page on 10 August 2026 listed Seedance 2.5 at 720p up to 30 seconds under unlimited, but Artlist removed that row in their 17 August update.

Artlist's unlimited models help page listing which video models the higher yearly plans include

Every Seedance 2.5 clip costs credits on Seadanse as well. We don't give this model away for free either. Whichever platform you pick, making a clip with Seedance 2.5 spends credits from your account.

What each one lets you upload

Both platforms let you use start and end frames to guide the opening and closing look of your shot.

Here's how upload support compares between the two:

  • Start and end frames: Supported on both platforms.
  • Image reference files: Supported on both platforms.
  • Video reference clips: Supported on both platforms.
  • Audio reference files: Supported on Artlist, but not supported on Seadanse.

That audio gap is real. If you want Seedance 2.5 to follow a specific voice recording, Artlist lets you drop that audio file straight into the tool.

On Seadanse, we take reference images and reference clips, but you can't upload reference audio files. You have to describe voices, tone, and sound effects inside the text prompt instead.

To make prompting easier, the Seedance 2.5 generator on Seadanse gives you a 10,000-character prompt box. We also give you fixed step chips for clip lengths of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 seconds, and six aspect ratios: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, and 21:9. Audio is turned on by default, and you can choose 480p, 720p, or 1080p.

How you pay, and what happens when you stop

Artlist runs on recurring monthly subscriptions. Their AI Suite plans break down like this:

  • 16,500 credits: $11.99 a month billed yearly, or $19.99 month to month.
  • 40,000 credits: $23.99 a month billed yearly, or $39.99 month to month.
  • 240,000 credits: $119.99 a month billed yearly, or $199.99 month to month.
  • Max Pro: $39.99 a month billed yearly, or $79.99 month to month (adds the stock library).

Artlist's 7,500-credit AI Starter tier covers voiceovers only and won't let you generate video. Video generation starts at the 16,500-credit plan.

The part that matters on Artlist is how monthly credits work. Artlist's help centre states that AI credits don't roll over from month to month, and unused credits reset at the start of each billing cycle.

If you run out of credits on Artlist, top-ups sit in a second wallet and expire 30 days after you buy them. Only yearly subscribers on plans with 80,000 credits or more can buy top-ups, one pack at a time.

On 14 May 2026, Artlist cut credit costs across 46 model setups by up to 80%. Before that cut, credits burned fast. On 27 February 2026, a subscriber on r/editors posted:

my 40,000 credits only allowed me to generate 45 seconds of video.

That was before the May price cut, so the number would look different today. But the monthly reset works the same way it did then. If you don't use your credits before your month ends, they're gone.

Seadanse doesn't use monthly subscriptions. When you sign up, you get free starter credits without typing in a credit card number.

When you want to generate a clip on Seadanse, you buy a $9.9 credit pack. Every credit you buy stays valid for 12 months. If you step away for three months, your balance is still there when you come back.

If a generation fails or gets cut off, we refund your credits automatically. You can see how that works on our Seedance 2.5 pricing page.

Cancellation rules also differ. Artlist's terms say that:

An active plan is required to publish any projects using Artlist assets. To remain covered, projects must be added to the clearlist while the plan is active. Once canceled, the license will no longer cover use of downloaded stock assets in new or published projects after the plan expires.

Keep in mind that these cancellation rules speak about downloaded stock footage and music files, not AI clips. Artlist's AI Suite includes a Pro license for commercial and client work worldwide. But if you cancel an Artlist Max plan, you have to clearlist your stock projects before your plan expires.

What we couldn't test

Here's what we checked and what we didn't. We read both platforms' documentation and pricing pages on 24 August 2026, and we opened Artlist's Toolkit while logged in.

Our automated browser couldn't start a generation on Artlist. So we haven't seen how fast Artlist generates or what its clips look like firsthand. This page compares the deals and the tool settings, not the final pictures.
