What Is the Pimp Walk Entrance? The Hold-the-Door TikTok Trend, Explained

TL;DR — What is the pimp walk entrance? It's a TikTok trend of about 14 seconds where one person holds a shop door open and the other walks through low and slow, then poses. It goes back to a real video from 2018, and an AI-made version from October 25, 2026 reached 588,300 views by November 3. Seadanse's Pimp Walk Entrance AI page makes the 14-second video from one or two photos, with the trend's original sound, for $9.90 at 720p.

If you spend time on TikTok or Reels, you've seen the doorway entrance on your feed. It goes by names like Pimpwalk Entrance, the hold the door trend, and pimp walk into barbershop. Viewers can't seem to stop looping the entrance: one viewer wrote, "I watched this about five times." (812 likes).

Searching for the clip isn't simple. The pimp walk on its own is a 1970s strut with decades of funk and dance videos behind it, so the doorway trend gets lost among older clips.

We'll break down what the trend is in plain words. Below, you'll find the moves timed second by second, where the scene started, what's real versus AI, the track, and how to create your own clip.

Here's what's below:

• The moves: All 14 seconds broken down beat by beat.
• The origin: The timeline from the 2018 restaurant clip to late 2026.
• The clip types: How the original live dancers differ from the AI burger-shop clips.
• The FAQ: Clear answers on the meme, the song, templates, and pricing.

What Is the Pimp Walk Entrance?

The pimp walk entrance is a short TikTok video where someone holds a shop's glass door open and the star of the clip comes through it with a low, slow pimp walk. Then they stand up and pose. It's about 14 to 15 seconds long, from the outside sidewalk to the final grin.

Here's what's in every one:

• The door: One person holds it open and grooves beside it, hyping the other one in.
• The walk: The other comes in from the dark, lower with every step, almost down to the floor.
• The pose: A rise to full height and a pose at the camera.

People share the clip under several titles. Here they are:

• Pimpwalk Entrance: TikTok's one-word spelling used in captions and search tags.
• The hold the door pimp walk: The name viewers search when looking for the door holder and the walker.
• The doorway entrance: A descriptive label people use across short-form feeds.
• The pimp walk into barbershop: The title tutorial captions use, though the shop in the biggest video is actually a burger shop.

It's a joke about walking into an ordinary shop like the whole place was waiting for you.

What Is the Pimp Walk in the Pimp Walk Entrance?

The pimp walk in the pimp walk entrance is a slow, swaggering strut with a lean back and a rhythmic bounce on every step. It's been known since the 1970s from funk dancing and locking (a funk dance style with sharp stops and points). Dancers keep their shoulders rolling while leaning away from the direction they walk.

In the entrance, the bounce goes deep, so you're nearly on the floor halfway across the mat. That extreme drop turns a street swagger into a dramatic stunt.

That's why the bare phrase brings up line dances and old dance clips, and the door's what makes it this trend.

The Pimp Walk Entrance, Second by Second

A pimp walk entrance video runs about 14 seconds in one handheld take, from the held door to the pose. The camera operator stands just inside the doorway and follows the walker as they cross the entrance mat.

Here's how our 14-second version plays out:

• At the door (0 to 2 seconds): The door holder bounces and grooves beside the open glass door. The one who walks in waits outside in the dark, then walks up to it.
• The threshold (2 to 4 seconds): You step through the door with bent knees and a little red cloth in one hand. You drop lower with every step, hips swinging.
• The low walk (4 to 8 seconds): You cross the black mat toward the camera in a low, wide-knee walk. Your head bobs, your hair bounces, and one hand stays near the floor while the door holder keeps grooving behind you.
• The slide (8 to 12 seconds): Still low, you slide sideways past the camera, which turns to follow you. You lean right into the lens.
• The rise (about 12 seconds): You stand up to full height in one move.
• The pose (12.5 to 14 seconds): You flick the little red cloth at your face and pose with a grin at the lens. The door holder laughs and grooves behind you.

You'll hear the trend's original sound from the first second, and nobody speaks.
