Uptown Funk AI Cover Videos: CEOs, Emperors, Wizards and Your Crew

TL;DR — An Uptown Funk AI cover video is an AI remake of the street dance from the 2014 "Uptown Funk" music video, with a new cast of five in a row and one of them leading in the middle, while the original song plays.

Five tech CEOs started the wave on October 7, 2026, and at least 81 Bilibili remakes followed in October, from TV comedians to Ming dynasty emperors and the Avengers. You can make yours from 1 to 5 photos on Seadanse's Uptown Funk AI for TikTok and Reels page. Pick one of four outfit themes, and you'll get a 15-second widescreen video with the song.

The term Uptown Funk AI cover means two different things on the web today. Many of the videos you'll find under it are songs where another singer's voice sings the track.

The video kind, the one that's pulling millions of plays, is spread across Bilibili in Chinese. Creators there keep re-casting the exact same five-person street dance, and they've made dozens.

That clip's pull spread fast to other sites too. As a Reddit repost of the CEO clip put it in its title, "Don't believe me, just watch."

We went through the October remakes, counted them and read their numbers on October 25, 2026. Then we lined them up with the four themes on our page. Here's what this trend is, every major cast people made, and how you can create yours.

What Is an Uptown Funk AI Cover Video?

An Uptown Funk AI cover video is an AI remake of the street dance in the 2014 "Uptown Funk" music video, with a new crew of five in the row. The original track by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars came out in 2014 on the album Uptown Special.

Its music video shows the group singing, walking and dancing down a New York-style city street, five in a row during the dance break. That 2014 video's got more than 5.9 billion views on YouTube.

Here's what every Uptown Funk AI cover video keeps:

  • The row: five dancers in one row on a New York-style city street.
  • The lead: one dancer leads in the middle of every group shot.
  • The cast: a group people already know as a set, like five tech CEOs, a TV cast or a superhero team.
  • The sound: the original "Uptown Funk" recording, so nobody re-sings it.

On Seadanse's Uptown Funk AI page, the cast comes straight from your photos, so it's you and your crew in the row.

The Uptown Funk AI Cover That Started It: Five Tech CEOs

The Uptown Funk AI cover that started the wave is a 143-second clip Gary Lau (@garylau_ai) posted on X on October 7, 2026. By October 25, 2026, it's had 404,000 views on X.

The creator lined up five tech bosses on the pavement:

  • The lead: Elon Musk in the middle.
  • Jensen Huang: in a black leather jacket.
  • Sam Altman: one of the four beside the lead.
  • Mark Zuckerberg: in a grey T-shirt.
  • Sundar Pichai: one of the four beside the lead.

The post's caption said: "The guys who made RAM so expensive are singing their hearts out to "Uptown Funk." Look how happy they are." That RAM-price joke's taken off across comment sections everywhere.

About 30 minutes later, the same creator posted the clip on Bilibili. It gathered 1.57 million plays on Bilibili by October 25, 2026. Its description says it's an AI re-creation made for fun, and that the people shown didn't take part.

On October 10, 2026, a YouTube upload copied the video and calls it an AI cover in its title.

You can read about where the Uptown Funk AI trend started to see how the clip first spread. You'll also find the AI CEO dance with your own team if you'd like to put your own bosses in the row.

  • Pick a theme: Keep my look, Tech CEOs, Wizard school or Football team.

You'll see the price on the Create button before you pay. One 15-second 720p video costs $9.90, paid once with no sign-up and no subscription. That same $9.90 pack covers a 480p video too, and one photo or five photos cost the same. You'll find every pack on Seadanse pricing.

Pack credits stay valid for 12 months. If a video fails, you'll get its credits back automatically.

In a few minutes, you'll download your 15-second widescreen 16:9 MP4 with the "Uptown Funk" song and no watermark on exported video. Your crew dances the routine shot for shot. That's the arms-up wide shot, the solo shot, the low-angle crouch, the kick step, the lowest-angle crouch, the close-up and the lean-in finish.

Uptown Funk AI Cover Casts From Bilibili's Remake Wave

Bilibili (a big Chinese video site) holds the biggest pile of Uptown Funk AI cover casts: we found at least 81 remakes posted in October 2026. Bilibili's search caps its results, so 81 is simply the floor, and the real number's higher.

Uploads peaked at 12 on October 21 and 11 on October 22, 2026. They were still running at 4 to 8 a day on October 23 and 24.

Most of these clips share a common title format: 「X领衔…激情演唱《Uptown Funk》」 (Chinese for "X leads … passionately singing Uptown Funk"). Here's the recipe creators use:

  • The group: they pick five that people know.
  • The outfits: they change them to match the group.
  • The dance: they keep the street, the moves and the camera cuts.

TV Casts Lead the Biggest Uptown Funk AI Remakes

Chinese TV casts drove some of the biggest view counts you'll find there, and a Western cast joined them:

That Zhao Benshan version's 3.06 million plays are about twice the CEO original's 1.57 million plays. So that one remake outran the video that started the whole wave.

Emperors and Legends Take Over the Uptown Funk AI Street

Historical rulers and mythical figures walked into the dance routine a few days before those TV casts:

Superhero Teams in Uptown Funk AI Covers

Superhero squads fit the five-dancer row naturally:

In that Captain America video, a viewer's on-screen danmaku (comments that fly across the video) asked "石队长这身高怎么回事" (Chinese for "what's with Captain Shi's height?").

Esports Stars, Athletes and F1 Drivers Join the Uptown Funk AI Row

Competitive sports and gaming leagues brought their biggest names into the row:

Game Parties and Meme All-Stars Do Uptown Funk AI Too

Gaming lineups and internet memes rounded out the remake rush:

Most remakes follow that template: five characters people know as a set, one clear leader in the middle, and matched outfits on the original city street.

Four Themes for Your Uptown Funk AI Cover

Seadanse's Uptown Funk AI gives your cover one of four outfit themes, and the whole crew wears it:

  • Keep my look: everyone dances in the clothes from their own photo, while new dancers dress in the lead's style.
  • Tech CEOs: dark tailored suits with slim ties, a black leather jacket over a black T-shirt, and a grey T-shirt with jeans.
  • Wizard school: long black robes over grey jumpers, striped ties and knitted scarves in red and gold or yellow and black.
  • Football team: navy home jerseys with big gold numbers and white football pants.

Every theme costs the same, and everyone keeps their own face and hair, so it's still your crew.

The four Uptown Funk AI cover themes on our page: Keep my look, Tech CEOs, Wizard school and Football team

You can use Tech CEOs for an office crew. Football team fits an athletic lineup, and Wizard school fits a fantasy set.

Uptown Funk AI Cover Ideas for Your Own Photos

The Uptown Funk AI cover ideas that work best with your own photos follow the Bilibili pattern: a group you know as a set, with one leader in the middle. Here are six ways you can cast your row:

  • Your friend group: bring five friends who are 18 or older and put your lead in photo 1.
  • Your work team: mark a launch day, a work birthday or new hires with the Tech CEOs theme.
  • Your club or sports team: dress your teammates in navy home jerseys using the Football team theme.
  • Your favourite characters: upload cartoon, anime or game characters. A character in photo 1 turns the whole video into that art style.
  • Your pet: add a pet photo, and it'll dance right in its own spot in the row.
  • Just you: add one photo of yourself, and the four other spots get new dancers in your style.

Your photo order decides where everyone stands in the row. Photo 1 stands in the middle, photo 2 goes far left, photo 3 goes far right, photo 4 takes inner left, and photo 5 takes inner right.

The two outer dancers show up biggest in the low-angle crouch shots. Only the lead gets the solo shot and the close-up, so you'll want whoever leads your crew in photo 1.

For another music-video routine, try No Scrubs AI. You'll lead the chorus dance from the "No Scrubs" music video, from one to three photos. They're both with the rest of our AI video effects.

Uptown Funk AI Cover Videos vs AI Voice Covers

An Uptown Funk AI cover can be one of two different things: a song with another singer's AI voice, or a video with a new AI cast. Here's how they're different:

  • Artist voice swaps: an AI music site, Rhythnia, lists a version in Post Malone's voice. YouTube has re-styled versions too, such as an EDM AI cover. You only listen to them, because there's no new dance.
  • Character and meme remixes: the dance video with a new cast and the original recording. That's the kind the CEO clip and every Bilibili remake are.

If you came for the dance, that's what our page makes: the video kind, from your photos, with the original song under it. You'll see how all the tools stack up in the Uptown Funk AI generators compared.

Uptown Funk AI Cover FAQ

Is an Uptown Funk AI cover a voice cover?

Can I make an Uptown Funk AI cover with my friends?

Yes, you can make an Uptown Funk AI cover with your friends. You can add up to five photos, one for each spot in the row, as long as every person is 18 or older. One photo or five photos cost the exact same: $9.90 for a 720p video.

Can cartoon or game characters be in an Uptown Funk AI cover?

Yes, cartoon, anime, game and AI-made characters work in the video. Putting a character photo in the first spot turns the entire video into that art style, including all four backup dancers.
