Where Is Seedance 2.5 Available? Every Surface, by Region
Where is Seedance 2.5 available across consumer apps, API consoles, and third-party tools? Here is which door actually opens for your region.
The team behind Seadanse. We run the models we write about, and we publish the specs, prices and limits the marketing leaves out.

TL;DR — Seedance 2.5 runs in three places: ByteDance apps, two API consoles, and third-party tools. Which one you reach depends on your location and your account type. The model is live worldwide, but that doesn't mean it's in the app you opened.
Every headline says the new model is live worldwide, but nobody tells you which door actually opens. On 21 August 2026, and during our re-check on 27 August 2026, China's app handed a logged-out visitor Seedance 2.5 right away, while the international app's main picker didn't list it at all. If you want to use Seedance 2.5 in your browser, here is the exact list of places running it right now.
The three kinds of place Seedance 2.5 runs
Seedance 2.5 lives on three distinct surfaces across the web:
- ByteDance's own consumer apps: Jimeng in China, Dreamina everywhere else, and Doubao.
- Two separate developer API consoles: BytePlus ModelArk for international accounts, and Volcano Engine Ark for China.
- Third-party web platforms that resell access to the model, including our own tool.
ByteDance's own apps: Jimeng in China, Dreamina everywhere else
On 31 July 2026, ByteDance announced the rollout with a direct statement. The team wrote: "Today, Seedance 2.5 is rolling out on Jimeng AI, Doubao Pro, and other platforms."
The post gave specific steps for users. It told readers to go to Jimeng Web or Doubao Pro, click Video Generation, and pick Seedance 2.5.
We opened both consumer apps without logging in on 21 August 2026, and checked them again on 27 August 2026. Both screens remained unchanged across those six days.
On Jimeng, the video composer opened with Seedance 2.5 already selected as the default model. The interface showed 16:9, 720P, and a 5-second duration, with omni reference switched on.
The prompt box stated that you can upload up to 50 reference files. A logged-out visitor gets 2.5 immediately on that page.

Jimeng, logged out on 27 August 2026: the composer opens on Seedance 2.5 without you picking it.
On Dreamina, the setup looked different when observed on 21 August 2026 and re-checked on 27 August 2026. We opened the Dreamina Seedance 2.5 landing page.
The page title reads "Official Seedance 2.5: 4K & 30s AI Video Generator with Audio". Its body text states: "Seedance 2.5 is officially live worldwide—get first access on Dreamina!". That specific landing page carries its own prompt box pinned to Seedance 2.5.
Yet when we opened Dreamina's main video generator page logged out on both dates, the model picker showed five options. It listed Seedance 2.0 Mini as the default, then 2.0 Fast, 2.0, 1.5 Pro, and 1.0 Mini. Seedance 2.5 wasn't on that list, and the menu didn't scroll.

Dreamina's main picker on the same day, logged out: five models, none of them 2.5.
The model is real on Dreamina, and you reach it from the model's own landing page. On those dates, it wasn't in the main generator's picker for a logged-out international visitor, while the China app made it the default.
Skip the region check
If you don't want to navigate separate landing pages, you can make a Seedance 2.5 clip straight from your browser. You pick your settings, enter your prompt, and the finished video comes back directly to your screen. You can check what a clip costs on Seadanse before you start.
The two API consoles are not the same account
If you write software, you reach the model through an API (an automated interface that lets programs talk to each other). ByteDance runs two separate developer consoles, and your account on one won't work on the other.
For international developers, the model lives on BytePlus ModelArk. The ByteDance announcement on 31 July 2026 noted that API access was coming soon via BytePlus ModelArk.
We reviewed the BytePlus ModelArk pricing documentation on 21 August 2026. The rate card lists the verified model ID (the string you put in an API call to say which model you want) as dreamina-seedance-2-5-260628. It sits right next to dreamina-seedance-2-0-260128.
The rate card shows pricing tiers for 480p/720p and for 1080p. There is no 4K row for Seedance 2.5. But the Seedance 2.0 row directly beneath it does have a 4K tier.

The international console lists Seedance 2.5 as dreamina-seedance-2-5-260628. Its tiers stop at 1080p; the 2.0 row below has a 4K one. Prices blacked out by us. Read 21 August 2026.
The China console is Volcano Engine Ark (火山引擎方舟). Secondary reports from AtlasCloud and Wan27 describe how that console operates.
Those reports state that the China console uses a separate China-region contract. It requires its own access keys, bills prepaid usage in RMB, and routes requests to a Beijing endpoint.
The two consoles list the model under different names. We couldn't verify the China model ID ourselves, so we won't print an unconfirmed string here.
The main takeaway is simple: an API key issued on one console doesn't call the other. If you set up billing on BytePlus ModelArk, those credentials won't work on Volcano Engine Ark.
Third-party platforms that resell it
Several independent web tools offer Seedance 2.5 by connecting to ByteDance's underlying API. We reviewed their live sites on 21 August 2026 to see what they publish.
kie.ai publishes a rate card that stops at 1080p
On kie.ai's Seedance 2.5 page, the page title reads "30s 4K AI Video".
When you look at the rate card on the page, the pricing tiers stop at 1080P, alongside 480P and 720P. There's no 4K generation tier on that table, meaning users can't purchase 4K output directly from that rate card.
Higgsfield says native 1080p on its own hero
The headline banner on Higgsfield's Seedance 2.5 page states its specifications plainly.
The hero section reads: "30 SECONDS IN ONE TAKE. 50 REFERENCES IN ONE PASS. NATIVE 1080P". It labels 1080p as the native render format for the model.
On 21 August 2026, nine results ranked on page one of search engines for the model's name. Three of them were ByteDance pages, while six were third-party sites. We break down the nine sites that claim to be official in our companion guide.
What "available worldwide" doesn't tell you
A simple release announcement doesn't explain every constraint you'll find in the interface. Here's what we observed across vendor pages and third-party reports:
- The model might not appear in an app's default picker. On Dreamina, on 21 August 2026 and during our re-check on 27 August 2026, a logged-out user had to open the specific Seedance 2.5 landing page rather than using the main video generator menu.
- You must have an account to generate clips on Dreamina, as observed on 20 August 2026.
- A third-party report by Leadde states that Dreamina's rollout gates access by user region, subscription tier, age (16 and over), and account eligibility. Dreamina's own landing page doesn't state an age limit or these rules, so keep in mind that this comes from a secondary source.
- Dreamina offers free daily credits to test the tool before subscribing. But its own page says paid plans add "watermark-free downloads, higher-resolution output, smoother videos up to 60 FPS". That means the free tier puts a watermark on your export.
- The 4K resolution claim remains an open question. Dreamina's landing page advertises 4K, but the BytePlus ModelArk API rate card stops at 1080p, and kie.ai's rate card also stops at 1080p. Does that 4K export come straight from the model, or does it come from an upscale? We don't know, because none of the pages we opened say which it is.
Where to go, by where you are
Use this breakdown to see which surface fits your account and setup:
| Where you are | The door that opens | What you need | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mainland China | Jimeng, Doubao, Volcano Engine Ark | A China account for the apps; a separate China console contract for the API | The console is billed and contracted separately from the international one |
| Anywhere else | Dreamina, BytePlus ModelArk, third-party platforms | A Dreamina account, or an API key, or a platform sign-up | On 21 August 2026 the model wasn't in Dreamina's main picker; you reach it from its own landing page |
| You just want a clip | Any third-party platform, Seadanse included | A normal sign-up | You get that platform's limits, not ByteDance's full feature list |
Every row here was checked on the vendor's own pages on 21 August 2026. Sources: the ByteDance announcement and the BytePlus ModelArk rate card.
If you're outside China, the doors that open are Dreamina's dedicated model page, an API key on BytePlus ModelArk, or an independent third-party tool.
What we run, and what we don't
We host the model in the browser so you can run Seedance 2.5 on Seadanse without regional roadblocks.
On Seadanse, you can generate Seedance 2.5 clips at 480p, 720p, or 1080p. There is no 4K on Seedance 2.5 on our platform. If you want 4K video, you should use the Seedance 2.0 preset instead, which includes a 4K generation mode.
Our tool supports six clip lengths: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 seconds. You can choose from six aspect ratios: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, and 21:9.
Reference pictures and reference video clips work inside our prompt workflow. Reference audio isn't wired up in our composer, so you'll need to describe voices and background sounds inside the prompt box. The prompt box holds up to 10,000 characters.

Seedance 2.5 on Seadanse: a normal sign-up, no region check of ours. Captured 27 August 2026.
Creating an account on Seadanse uses a normal sign-up flow. New accounts receive free starter credits without entering a payment card.
There's a $9.9 credit pack if you need extra runs without committing to a recurring subscription. If a clip fails to generate or gets interrupted, our system refunds your credits automatically.
Here's our limit, stated plainly: we're a third-party platform, not ByteDance. We don't offer Dreamina's 180-second beta mode, and we stop at 1080p on Seedance 2.5.
If you want a clip up to 180 seconds, Dreamina is the platform running that beta mode. Just keep in mind that its free tier adds a watermark to the export.
FAQ
Is Seedance 2.5 available in the US and Europe?
We checked the surfaces rather than testing availability country by country. Users outside China can reach the model through Dreamina's landing page, through the BytePlus ModelArk API console, or through third-party platforms.
Do I need a Chinese phone number to use Jimeng?
We didn't verify the complete account sign-up requirements for Jimeng first-hand. If you don't have mainland China credentials, surfaces like Dreamina, BytePlus ModelArk, or third-party web tools don't ask for a China account.
Is Seedance 2.5 on CapCut?
The Dreamina web application lives on the capcut.com domain name. ByteDance hosts Dreamina under that address.
The verdict
Seedance 2.5 is accessible across the globe, but each surface asks for something different. Jimeng opened with 2.5 already selected for China users, international creators reach the model through Dreamina's dedicated landing page, and developers must select the right regional API console. Pick the door that fits your account and your project requirements.
