What Is the Dime Dime Baby AI Trend? (Real vs AI, Explained)

TL;DR — The Dime Dime Baby AI trend is a wave of viral videos where people put themselves into AI versions of a real 9-second clip from July 2025 of a man at a party who walks up to the camera, bites a sweet roll, stares down the lens and dances into the crowd.

In October 2026 it went viral again as AI versions, led by a CapCut template with 261,187 uses in three days. You can make your own from 1 photo on Seadanse's Dime Dime Baby AI for TikTok and Reels.

Two videos on your feed can show the same walk-in, bite and stare done by two different men. Viewers in the comments keep asking "cuál es el original?" (Spanish for "which one is the original?"). That single question got 17 likes.

We went back to the 2025 original post, tracked the new AI versions and broke down the song behind the sound.

Here's everything you need to know about the real clip. You'll also see how the AI edits took over social feeds, and how you can join the fun yourself.

What Is the Dime Dime Baby AI Trend?

The Dime Dime Baby AI trend is a wave of AI videos that remake one real 2025 party clip with new people in the dancer's place.

In each video, a person walks toward the camera across a crowded dance hall. They're holding a piece of sweet bread. They take a bite, deliver a completely flat stare straight into the lens, and turn to dance into the crowd.

Some October 2026 versions keep the same party, like @elmariobrox's cowboy version. The CapCut template makes a new clip in a different, purple-lit hall. The wave keeps the viral "dime, dime, baby" vocal line playing in the background.

• The real clip: a 9-second video from July 2025. A man walks across a party floor, eats sweet bread and dances away.
• The AI versions: new clips made from photos. They put different people in the dancer's spot for the walk-in, the bite, the stare and the dance away.
• The line: a vocal hook from a 2026 track. It's what gives the entire dance wave its recognizable name.

What Happens in a Dime Dime Baby AI Trend Video, Second by Second?

Every Dime Dime Baby AI trend video follows the four beats of the 9-second original: walk in, bite the concha (a Mexican sweet bread roll with a sugar shell), stare, dance away.

The pacing's tight, and you'll hear every beat hit right on time with the backing track.

• Walk in: the dancer walks across the party floor toward the lens from 0 to 2 seconds. He's holding the pastry in one hand.
• The bite: the dancer takes a firm bite of the pastry between 2.5 and 3.8 seconds as the camera pulls back.
• The stare: the dancer chews and holds a completely deadpan stare into the lens between 4 and 5.8 seconds.
• Dance away: the dancer turns around at 6 seconds. Then he dances away into the room until the clip ends at 9 seconds.

In the AI version from @elmariobrox, you'll also see a return to the camera and a point at the lens right before the clip ends.

Who Started the Dime Dime Baby AI Trend?

The Dime Dime Baby AI trend started from a real video that Eve Ramírez's TikTok @eve.el.cholo posted on July 24, 2025. The AI wave started with @elmariobrox on October 17, 2026.

Eve Ramírez's original video gathered 7.7 million views and 608,000 likes on TikTok. Most posts about the trend call the party a Mexican quinceañera (a girl's 15th-birthday party, a big celebration in Mexico). But the original caption doesn't say what the event was.

The viral gaze became a sensation across social media. And a podcast interview four days later noted that the famous stare came from Coahuila, Mexico.

• The CapCut template: a new 8-second clip. It's set in a different hall decorated with purple lighting.

Viewers quickly spotted the difference between the uploads. One commenter pointed out "es IA porque el tiene barba y el original no" (Spanish for "it's AI because he has a beard and the original doesn't").
